Portugal Day Five: Lagos

This morning we left Lisbon.  We got an UBER from the airport to the hotel to pickup our rental car.  We were expecting to get a smaller vehicle, a Citroen 380, a hatchback.  The guy we had at the desk had a hard time with his systems, the card reader would not work, the tech guy came out and I think that because he took a lot of our time he gave us an upgrade to a luxury SUV, well luxury its a French SUV, a DK Crossover Series 7.  Krista says it drives nice on the highway, but not like our car.

We took our time driving down, we got off the main highway and followed the coast line for a while.  There was nothing difficult about this drive at all.  Krista driving and me navigating works best for us, neither one of us gets stressed out.

We stopped for a quick lunch in Sines, and then drove the winding road through the country side, and some short distances along points where we could see the ocean.  I was hoping for more of a shoreline drive.

We arrived in Lagos around 3:00pm, found the hotel without issue.  Krista has us booked in a small resort, where its more like cottages, just attached.  We each face the main walkway, have our own little front porch with a table and a couple of chairs so we can take in the nice weather.

Speaking of weather, its cloudy here today, at about 17°C, and the wind is blowing.

Once we got settled we took a walk down to the point where we can look out over the Atlantic ocean back home, or toward Lagos to see the town.  There are also a number of nice beaches along the shore here, all walking distance from our little resort.  Beaches will be explored tomorrow.

Tonight we're going to take a walk down to where we can access one of the beaches to take in the sunset, somewhere around 8:00pm.  Then we have a reservation for dinner at one of the hotels that has a restaurant on its roof top terrace so we can over look the town, ocean, beaches and all that Lagos has to offer.
